Logistics Coordinator

Job Description:

The Logistics Coordinator position will perform the following duties:

  • Responsible for assisting the Logistics Manager and/or OPCO management in effectively managing the daily operations of inbound logistics.

  • Builds trucks using truckload orders or multiple LTL orders to maximize efficiencies and reduce cost.

  • Assigns load to outside carriers.

  • Dispatches both Boston and Over-The-Road drivers.

  • Keeps current with Transportation and Delivery Costs.

  • Monitors accepted loads and verify that the loads were delivered on time or notify concerned departments of any late arrival issues.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

6-12 months logistics, transportation, dispatch and/or related administrative work experience

Pass pre-employment drug test

Basic/intermediate computer software skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

High attention to detail.

2+ yrs logistics, transportation, dispatch and/or related administrative work experience

Foodservice distribution or related industry experience

Demonstrated knowledge of transportation industry, including DOT rules and regulations

Advanced computer software skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and AS400
