BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:This is structure and craft work involving finish carpentry and engineering support duties. Responsibilities include completing large renovation projects and finished cabinetry work requiring fine carpentry skills and assisting in the overall maintenance, operations, and management of Department properties, facilities, and infrastructure. This position supervises and participates in general project planning, design, construction and maintenance of new and existing Department projects, facilities, and infrastructure. Reading and reviewing detailed construction blueprints of large renovation projects; estimating work materials required to complete the job; planning and laying out the work. This class is differentiated from the Carpenter classification in that incumbents of this class perform skilled finish carpentry work involving large renovation projects that require incumbents to review project plans, estimate materials required for the job, and complete all finish carpentry work with little or no supervision. Work is performed under limited supervision. Candidates must have knowledge of maintenance for a variety of trucks, skidsteer, snow removal equipment, power, and building equipment, along with snow removal and yard work duties. Weekend and holiday work is required based on operational requirements. Candidates must be available to respond to any emergency calls on a rotating basis
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Four (4) years of experience in finish carpentry.
A Class C driver's license is required.
