MaineGeneral HomeCare and Hospice is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 24 hour per week position based out of our Gardiner, Maine office. This Hospice Weekend Nurse will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team that provides skilled nursing and end of life care to clients.

This position will be either Friday through Sunday, 8am-4:30pm OR Saturday through Monday, 8am-4:30pm. No on-call required.

• Provides patient and family centered hospice care to individuals with a life limited illness. • Provides care in a variety of settings, including patient or family homes, nursing facilities, and inpatient facilities. • Acts as the primary case manager and works with the hospice interdisciplinary team to coordinate all aspects of hospice care for the aggregate of patients.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A current license as a Registered Nurse in Maine or licensed from a compact state, required • 1 year or more acute med/surg or equivalent nursing experience, required • Valid driver's license, required • Hospice and Palliative Care Certification preferred • Experience in homecare or hospice preferred • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision • Strong interpersonal skills • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
