Maine Drilling & Blasting is a large specialty construction subcontractor, providing drilling, blasting, rock anchor, and engineering services to construction and quarry customers across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The Marketing Department provides vital support focused on acquiring new business, elevating the brand, and advancing our culture and mission to deliver the best services to customers with a Making it Happen approach. We are seeking a versatile Marketing Assistant in our Gardiner, Maine office to support the Marketing Director in a wide range of both administrative and primary marketing duties.
Assist with In-Bound Marketing campaigns and ongoing major campaigns for Corporate Branding & Mission, Employer Branding, Safety, Employee Ownership and Company Culture
Maintain and update Marketing and Sales databases, and contact and mailing lists.
Write articles, press releases and promotional materials for external and internal audiences
Provide marketing research and tracking by gathering, analyzing and summarizing data and trends
Create presentations for Superintendents, Managers and Executives, as required
Create and update Qualification Packages, Company promotional materials, and Company communication templates
Assist with research to support business development and marketing communications, as needed
Assume responsibilities related to our Company store, working with our vendor
Assist with the Company’s annual Trade Advertising plan: Market research, plan, & budget preparation, insertion order and trade ad preparation & fulfillment
Assist with the Company’s annual Calendar creation, list generation, and fulfillment
Assist with all requests for promotional swag for customers or employees; research, pricing, quality control and fulfillment
Assist in planning and executing local and regional events, exhibits and conferences
Provide training and support of Company management of customer management system (CRM)
Collaborate to support a social media presence representing the variety of our projects and culture along with generating content, updating, and maintaining 3 corporate websites
Photograph Company projects and people
Monitor press coverage
Perform additional marketing assignments and support functions, as needed
Two-year degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications, with 1-3 years’ relevant experience, (or equivalent experience), preferably in construction industry or professional services environment
Strong MS Office Suite skills required, and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically with Photoshop and InDesign. Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) software experience a plus.
MAC experience strongly preferred
Online experience with Social Media and Website management, content generation, and maintenance
Proactive approach with excellent organization, time management, team-orientation, prioritization and attention to detail. Uses time effectively with little supervision.
Ability to trouble-shoot, think critically, communicate clearly, use logic to solve problems and balance simultaneous needs for speed and accuracy
Must work well with a variety of personalities
