General Summary:The primary responsibility of the Talent Onboarding Manager is to partner with the business and human resources in the identification of talent for the organization. The Talent Onboarding Manager is responsible for overseeing the recruiting function for their assigned business units and providing direction to HR business partners as needed. Upon hire the Talent Onboarding manager will be responsible for the coaching and mentoring of new employees within their first 90 days of employment as well as evaluating their progress through the training period.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with business partners to fill positions with high quality candidates in an efficient timeframe

  • Partner with HR to ensure a seamless candidate experience from application to start date. Ensuring candidate experiences are consistent with Unum standards throughout the process.

  • Lead interview teams, to ensure job requirements are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria. Provide interview coaching and training to interview teams, as needed.

  • Ensure that the Staffing team is proactively identifying, sourcing, and recruiting candidates using a variety of sources with the goal of identifying the highest quality talent for the most reasonable cost. Monitor the usage of tools such as Indeed, CareerBuilder, LinkedIn, and social media platforms by the Staffing Team

  • Promote the employee referral program and process. Follow up with internal candidates and their managers to evaluate fit within our organization

  • Look for ways to build key partnerships in your community; for example identifying key schools or community organizations to partner with for full and part time employment of students or members.

  • Lead by example and operate with the Core Values in mind in each interaction with the staffing team, business partners, peers, leadership, candidates, and employees.

  • Provide collaborative leadership including all aspects of people management - hiring, training, resource allocation, job design, people development and performance management that creates a high-performance operating environment

  • As the subject matter expert of the unit, demonstrate expertise in the integration of functions, oversight of special projects, and advice and consultation to the staff.

  • Analyze and resolve problems and situations of varying complexities and origins.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • College degree preferred plus a combination of 3-4 years of demonstrated management experience or increasingly responsible leadership accountability for other personnel

  • Recruiting experience preferred, including leading interviews and the identification of top talent.

  • Ability to effectively partner with business partners in executing and developing the Talent Acquisition strategy

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical ability, customer service orientation, demonstrable expertise in analysis, decision making, execution of plans/processes, and excellent organization skills and follow up.

  • Demonstrated people management experience in motivation, team building, collaboration and performance management
